National Rabbit Week 2008

Hey guys and gals. This week 21st - 27th January is National Rabbit Week. The initiative is sponsored by Burgess Excel (yummy food!) and during the week you can find activities and free dental/health checks (hopefully) near you.

Visit the website http://www.nationalrabbitweek.co.uk to see what's going on in your area. If you can't find anything it's worth asking your own vet if they are participating. That's what my hoooman did and it turns out I am having a free health check this Friday.... oh boy I can't wait!

She also mentioned something about the "snip", no idea what that means but I hope it's something nice!

OoooOOO a shelled thing?!

Well, this thing called Christmas came around and it was a lot of fun. I'm not sure what it's all about and if it will happen again but this is what I got up to...

... I met a little friend, I think it's a she although at first I just thought it was a staionary object! Her name is Zetti and I think she likes me too : )

The moment we met

Where's the head gone?!

Zetti sneaking up on me
I let her check out my toys : )

Posing together
I think I wore her out!
All alone again : (
The two-foots say she will be back to visit me again, and I can't wait to see if she has grown by then.

Finally Famous!!!

My hooman made her Christmas card this year featuring moi of course! She showed them to people on RU and someone saw them who wanted to use it for their organisation Respect for Animals which campaigns against animal cruelty.

So now people can buy their Christmas cards featuring me whilst also helping a fantastic cause... I'm so proud!!

Here's the card design: *blushes*

The cards are available to buy online from the Respect for Animals shop here

They were so popular that she was asked to do more, each person has sent a donation to a rabbit rescue in exchange for their illustration. Here are some of them (aren't the bunnies lovely?!):

First a Christmas card... next, THE WHOLE WORLD!! Mwahahaaaa!

*note to self, must stop the evil laughter*

On the Hoooman's Bed!!

Last time I was on the two foot bed I was a bit nervous and wet myself! So embarrassing! Since then I haven't been allowed on, until yesterday when a little box appeared next to the bed... I was jumping on and off as I pleased! It was very excited and Thea made this video

So Many Unloved Bunnies :' (

My hooman mummy is a member on the forum Rabbits United which is the online community for Rabbit Rehome, a website that helps unwanted and mistreated rabbits find new loving homes. Since being a member she has been exposed to the situtation of at least 30,000 rabbits in rescue centres all around the UK. Us little rabbits are the third most common pet in the UK yet there are so many that are unwanted and uncared for :' (

Recently the forum ran a competition for members to design a poster to make the public aware of all the bunny friends that need forever homes. Today she printed out 10 of the posters to send to veterinary clinics in our area.

If you want to do the same to help the unwanted bunny situation you can go to here and print out your own copies, you could ask anyone you know that owns a shop or your local vets to put one up in their window or waiting room.

Together we can help my bunny cousins find great homes just like mine!

Recent Piccies

Here's some recent pics of me! My eye was clear for ages but then started to water again last week.... it was quickly resolved with an eye bath, I feel much better now but I hate being caught, it's so distressing... but hey I guess these things have to be done!

Me looking grumpy! (you can see my great big house in the background)

Looking handsome!

My bunny mouth... how embarrassing!

Timothy Hay makes me very, very happy!!!

I can't believe it's been nearly a month since my last post... so sorry to all those huge Bobbin fans out there! Sure, who am I kidding?!

You know you're loved when your two-foot buys you lots of yummy things! Recently she got some brand new Timothy Hay, it's so luscious and green this time, with some really good stalky bits which are good for wearing my teeth down. Rabbits teeth grow all the time you see, so it's essential that we get a diet rich in fibre to help wear down our teeth, otherwise they can become over grown, needing surgery.

My two-foot's been taking loads of pics of me recently, I'll be sure to upload them, just as soon as I get my paws on her camera!

Till then, take care...

Gifts for my two-foot!!

Well I went and opened my big bunny mouth too soon didn't I?!

Yesterday my left eye was watering a little.... and I was given an eye bath AGAIN!!! With a bit of wriggling I did manage to get free but by that time my face was already soaked!

It does feel better for it though.

Last night I thought it would be nice to give my two-foot a little prezzie in the morning, just to say thanks for the eye bath and all.... well she came in this morning to give me food, and she was delighted by the poo I had stuck to the wall!!! Heheheheeeeee!!

YEY!!!!

It's been a week since Thea, my two-foot mummy, bathed my eyes, and although I totally hated it at the time, my eyes have been great all week! No watering so I'm really pleased but I've got my paws crossed too!

So I've been really happy, racing around. Here's a video Thea took of me!

More Tears

I haven't been feeling very well again recently. My eye stopped watering for about a week but then my right one started to water and then my left again! Yesterday my two-foot mum bathed my eyes in sterilsed water to help soothe them and get rid of the salt that had accumulated in my fur. I was very annoyed at first, she turned me upside down again to do it! Afterwards it felt much better but look how silly I looked.... worse than before! I'm not vain or anything, but come on... I look like a drowned rat! This is my mean face, I wanted to get her back!

Finally I decided that if I didn't dry my own face, no one else was going to do it for me... do I have to do everything around here?!

I must say I felt much better today, even though one eye is still a bit watery at least they're not salty! Good on my two-foot!
